Vacation Bible School 2011 in Minas Gerias, Brazil

With the rapid growth of P70, this year was particularly challenging to prepare for VBS.  But, with the help of many friends from Parkway Hills and First Baptist Ft. Worth, we were able to prepare materials for over 1200 kids  – and God has been faithfully bringing them forward each day!

Our morning VBS works as a three-day rotation as the children have recreation time each day, and we share the gospel through puppet stories and crafts.  They are learning who Jesus is, and why He had to die on the cross; Jesus is their friend, and wants to have a personal relationship with them; and even though they are young, they can share Christ with others and become “Fishers of Men.”

I wish each of you could witness our teens and young adults as they become the hands and feet of Jesus – not only are they making a lasting impression on these children, but their lives will be changed forever as well.

There are times that Satan creeps in – making us wonder if what we are doing here really makes a difference…but when I look into the eyes of these beautiful children, I can’t imagine not coming here…. anything that we can do to help these kids find salvation is worth the effort – and it is a joy and a privilege to serve.

So to everyone who made the 4,000 plus salvation bracelets and cards, who punched holes in plates, tied fish on string, bound coloring books, verse packets, and on and on… thank you for all your help – and please know that your efforts are being used for God’s kingdom here in Brazil.  Deus Abencoe!
